Enforcement Authority & Penalties
SEC enforcement covers climate disclosure requirements for registered public companies. California Air Resources Board (CARB) enforces SB 253 and SB 261 with civil penalties up to $500,000 per year for non-compliance. Federal supply chain requirements are enforced through contract terms — non-compliance can result in contract termination and debarment.
